Vacant industrial space

The Altmark is economically mainly an agricultural and trades region. However, companies that want to settle here will find plenty of industrial space.

One of the most famous industrial areas in the Altmark is the industrial park near Arneburg. The pulp mill and a fine paper mill are located here, which are important employers in the region. In addition to other companies, lots of vacant industrial space and warehouses can be found here. As a company looking for a suitable location, you will find plenty of space here and benefit from the good connections: there is a direct rail link to Stendal, Magdeburg and Wittenberge and the industrial area has its own port. The B188 and B189 main roads are not far away and the construction of the A14 motorway will make the location even more attractive.

Companies can also find suitable industrial estates in other towns such as Stendal, Salzwedel, Tangermünde, Osterburg and Gardelegen. You will find the Nord I and II industrial areas and the large Nord commercial area in Gardelegen, on the northernmost edge of the city. These are directly linked to the B71 and B188 bypasses. The Ost II commercial estate is also on the B188. Gardelegen is an ideal location for the supply industry due to its proximity to the car manufacturer Volkswagen. The Hanseatic town of Osterburg (Altmark) has two commercial/industrial areas located in the south of the city, which are directly linked to the B189 and future A14.
