Many young people, who once left the Altmark, are now returning to their home. And they are bringing new inspiration, ideas and potential for our region with them. The economy is boosted and new networks are created thanks to the homecomers.
Many young adults can hardly wait to spread their wings into the "big wide world" and get away from their familiar surroundings after leaving school. They learn a profession far away from home, study in big cities or even abroad. But all the "lost" people return during the public holidays at the latest and reflect on their childhood and memories. But how does this life far away turn out when you have children yourself? There are many young families in this country who have not lived in the Altmark for years and wish to return. They now appreciate the life they once knew and create potential here in the Altmark. Never before have so many properties been bought, converted and newly built.
The young people are coming back. There are still daycare places here, you have grandma and grandpa here and above all living space. A new generation has returned, with a new upswing and ideas that rekindle the charm of their old home. Special events not only give impressions of the job offers in the Altmark region, they also make contacts, establish connections between like-minded people and introduce the "new old ones" to the local economy. The "Homecomers' Day" has now become all too popular among employees and employers.
