Do you fancy a cosy evening at the cinema? Then you will find a cinema in almost all towns and even in some smaller towns, where the latest films and first-class insider tips are shown. Or how about a visit to the theatre? The theatre in Stendal is the cultural flagship for our region, where you can attend first-class theatre performances.

You will find the "Theater der Altmark" in Stendal town centre. The name of the theatre says it all: you can not only experience theatre and musical performances in Stendal but everywhere in the Altmark. One of the highlights every summer are the outdoor performances, e.g. in the grounds of the Arendsee monastery with a view of the lake. The theatre is particularly characterised by its willingness to experiment and its closeness to the people. Do you or your children love the theatre? Maybe you even fancy taking to the stage yourself. Then you can join one of the drama groups and rehearse and perform a play yourself under the guidance of drama teachers. The groups for children and young people, which young people get involved in during their free time are especially popular.
