We welcome you to the west of the Altmark. The unified municipality of the Hanseatic town of Gardelegen is nestled in green meadows and secluded forests in the Altmark district of Salzwedel and, with its 49 districts, forms the third largest area town in Germany. The Hanseatic town of Gardelegen has a population of 22,735 (as of December 31, 2018).
