Clubs and associations are an important part of our society, this is especially true for our Altmark. You will find a large number of clubs and associations here which you can get involved in in your free time. Do you want to get active and let off steam with football (e.g. 1.FC Lok Stendal e.V.), running (e.g. Elbdeichmarathon) or rowing on the Elbe (e.g. Ruderriege Havelberg, Tangermünde Ruderclub)? You have the chance to do so at all the clubs mentioned above.
The numerous volunteer fire brigades in the region where Altmarkers are committed to their community and their town are also extremely popular. As a carnival fan you are also in just the right place in the Altmark. You can get creatively involved in dancing, singing, carnival speeches and sketches in the numerous carnival associations, for example in Rochau, Seehausen or Klöte. You can get involved in non-profit associations such as animal protection (e.g. Tierheim Stendal-Borstel) or the German Red Cross (DRK Ostliche Altmark, DRK Salzwedel).
