The smaller towns, such as Kläden, Sandau, Kunrau, Beetzendorf, Schönhausen or Wahrenberg, have interesting places and sights, such as museums, local history rooms, farm gardens, stork nests and impressive churches. Their closeness to nature makes them something special.
Worthwhile destinations in the region are contemporary witnesses of history, such as the numerous fieldstone churches, the Deetzer Warthe or the 4,500-year-old megalithic tombs, among others. The nature trail in the community of Hohenwulsch, which was newly created a few years ago, as well as the local history room and farm garden in the community of Schäplitz are other offers for a stay rich in natural experiences. The traditional Steinfeld farmers' market, which takes place every year in September, is highly recommended.
