Digital innovations from Stendal

Intelligent products, efficient processes and innovative services contribute significantly to the economic performance of companies. In addition to companies with their own research and development, start-ups also present innovative business ideas.
The close networking of Saxony-Anhalt's universities with industry and production means that the potential for innovations in a wide range of areas is evident throughout the state. But individual companies in the Altmark region also create innovations, such as Europe's largest microalgae farm in Klötze, which has developed and patented new methods for algae cultivation, or the specialist clinic in Uchtspringe, which cooperates with the Berlin Charité hospital in the field of telemedicine.
But innovation does not always have to be technology, there are also social innovations. Social innovation means developing ideas that solve social problems. Here too, there are two flagship projects in the Altmark: the Künstlerstadt Kalbe, which deals with vacancies in a creative way, and the Bürgerinitivative Stendal, which supports the elderly and people suffering from dementia.
