Diverse exhibitions in the gallery in the cloister, the summer theater in the monastery ruins and musical performances in the monastery church enrich the cultural life. The idiosyncratic work of the "wanderprediger und tempelwechter" Gustav Nagel (1874-1952), who lived here as a nature lover and vegetarian, is commemorated especially at the place where he lived on the shores of Lake Arend.
