A true bird paradise

Schollene is located in the northeastern part of the state of Saxony-Anhalt and on the state border with Brandenburg. Its rural character is strongly influenced by its surroundings. Lake Schollen exerts a special charm as a magnificent natural setting with its floating islands and the large siltation area. The visitor is shown a true bird paradise, which is embedded in a closed nature reserve of about 1500 ha. The extraction of the healing mud Pelose from the lake is unique.
