Projekt Gardelehrer

In addition, the Hanseatic town of Gardelegen offers a municipal scholarship for young student teachers that is unique in the state.
Within the framework of the provision of public services in the rural area, the town has made it its task, among other things, to develop and implement ideas that enable young people and families a professional and private perspective in the rural idyll of the western Altmark. Thus, the municipal scholarship for student teachers - the Gardelehrer project - was launched in 2017 by resolution of the city council. Until 15.09. of a year, interested student teachers have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship at the Hanseatic City of Gardelegen. Those who are willing to teach at one of the schools in the municipal area after the end of their studies receive a scholarship of 300 euros per month from the 1st semester until entry into the traineeship.
In 2018, three scholarships were awarded for the first time. After graduation, we also provide support in finding an apartment, a building site, a place to care for children or a job for accompanying life partners.
